VEHICLE ARMOR KITS

TURNKEY PROTECTION FOR CIVILIAN VEHICLES

Protection kits with easy integration

PROTECTION TO THE HIGHEST STANDARDS.

The need for ballistic protection for vehicles in law enforcement and civilian roles is growing. More and more vehicles are protected with composite kits that protect the cabin or cargo area, and the protection requirement continues to evolve. Normal protection solutions are developed to perform in accordance with FB - DIN EN 1522/23 levels 4-7. These protection levels cover a wide array of recurrent threats.

Integris has a decade-long experience in armor solutions for sedans, estates, and vans. We use our expertise in lightweight composite materials to develop and adapt lightweight armor kits with little to no effects on overall vehicle or component functionality. The ballistic performance is certified with independent test institutes.

Our experienced engineering team can now provide turn-key solutions where Integris integrates the solution on the vehicle. We use non-invasive installations methods and can install tailored protection solutions on short notice. You bring the car. We provide the rest.

    Advantages

    TURN-KEY SOLUTION

Our competent team of engineers manage the whole armoring process based on your defined requirements for functionality and ballistic performance.

    ADAPTED SOLUTION

The armor solution is developed to fit the vehicle and without interfering with existing components or functions. This means the car door power window will still function with the armor solution installed.

    FAST TURN-AROUND

We can define, manufacture, and install protection solutions on short notice. Non-invasive installation methods means fast integration and delivery.

    HIGH BALLISTIC PERFORMANCE

The composite protection solutions features a high multi-hit capability that protects against several hits even when close. In addition, the composite panels minimizes fragmentation in case of penetration.

    LIGHTER THAN STEEL

Composite solutions are significantly lighter than comparable metallic solutions. This means higher vehicle performance and less stress on hinged and sliding doors.

    Setting Requirements

During the initial phase of the project, we establish a quote based on the desired protection level, the need for additional protection solutions, and the work required to completely integrate the ballistic solution in your vehicle. We have a quality-minded project department that screen the required solution, ask you to clarify any uncertain points, and even advise on alternative solutions. Based on this discussion, the sales team establishes the quote based on your specific requirements.

    Adaptation

When we have a fixed proposal and you have accepted the quoted work, we proceed with adapting the protection solution that offers the best performance for your requirements. When the vehicle arrives at the facility, we start the adaptation process by taking out the internal panels to get to the vehicle skin. Then we install a cardboard mock-up that we adapt to the specific vehicle. This method ensures that we obtain the highest coverage and that the new solution can be mounted with non-invasive methods.

    Manufacturing

With the mock-up in place, we proceed to turn it into a digital template that can then be converted into a set of work drawings. Simultaneously, the R&D department validates the performance of the ballistic panel in the vehicle. Then the panels are pressed and cut to acquire the shape of the template. Then the panels can be coated, painted, or sealed, depending on the requirements. At the end of this step, the complete protection kit is ready for installation.

    Installation

With the protection kit ready, we proceed with installing the kit in the vehicle. The armor kit is completed and shaped to the vehicle based on the template. The armor solution is then installed and fixed to the vehicle. The protection kit can have varying shapes and sizes, depending on the level of protection and what threats the vehicle needs to be protected against. The solution here is a relatively simple anti-ballistic solution against small arms fire.

    Protection levels

    FB - DIN EN 1522/23

    FB4

The FB - DIN EN 1522/23 level 4 provides protection against .357 Mag. and .44 Rem. Mag. Both threats cover the upper limit of prevalent handgun threats and will also provide protection against 9 mm Luger.

    FB4 + 7.62x39 MSC

The FB - DIN EN 1522/23 level 4+ is an unofficial but highly relevant protection level. The level composes the threats listed in FB 4 and adds protection against the 7.62x39 MSC from an AK47.

    FB5

The FB - DIN EN 1522/23 level 5 is the lowest official level of protection against rifle ammunition. The FB 5 level certifies protection against the 5.56 NATO round as well as threats below it in the DIN EN1522/23 scope.

    FB6

The FB - DIN EN 1522/23 level 6 protects against 5.56x45 armor piercing rounds as well as 7.62x51 FMJ lead core threats. The protection level is lowest level that protects against the three most prevalent rifle threats.

    FB7

The FB - DIN EN 1522/23 level 7 is the highest protection level prevalent in police and vehicles. The protection level covers the upper limit for 7.62x51 armor piercing rounds and provides protection against 7.62x39 MSC and 5.56x45 M193 and M885.
